Corinna Jammed

This was done for the monthly Drawing Jam over at the Drawing Board. Every month someone posts a couple of pics of a male or female, and challenges the community to take a crack at illustrating the images. Here's my submission for February. A bit rough, but I'm just happy it isn't a nightmare, since I redrew this one about 5 or 6 times, and just completely could not 'get' the pose.

I hate the feet.

Something about drawing from reference just kills me, artistically. I have so much trouble pushing a drawing when I'm looking at reference. I feel like I'm 'forcing' myself to draw how I would any other time, just draw naturally. I don't get it! Well, nothing I'm sure a few hundred thousand more drawings won't cure.

ever feel like a second grade teacher when you post on these things? cause i like your drawings but it feels funny to say stuff like keep up the good work, but hey! keep up the good work!

yeah, I know what you mean. But I still post in other peoples blogs anyway, because I know how good it feels when someone posts in mine, even if it's just to say "Nice!".

It's always good to know people are actually looking at your stuff.

Isn't it funny how artists are always critizing their own work. I do it myself when I do leatherwork for people. Anyway, Corinna Jammed is way better that you think. Dad

Because we see our work in reality in contrast to how we see it in our mind. Other people don't see how we want it to look in our mind. like...if I showed you how my drawing would look if I could draw with my mind, you'd say this was crap.

I had trouble with this months jam too! My favorite jam was the "Luba" Jam. hmmm... that kinda sounds dirty.

I like your version. Nice job on her butt!

It's a rainy day today, I didn't even do this month's drawing jam, I did however checked it simi-daily there were only about three that i liked, yours was one of them, I agree with Kristen, you nailed the shift of her weight, and balance, lovely think&thing lines, emphasize that more!
